Golfsmith closing three of its four Northern Virginia stores

Golfsmith is closing three of its four Northern Virginia stores as part of its bankruptcy reorganization.

The golf equipment retailer announced that its stores in Woodbridge, Sterling and Chantilly will be among 20 it closes nationwide. The Woodbridge store is at 15201 Potomac Town Place, the Sterling store at 46301 Potomac Run Plaza and the Chantilly story at 11052 Lee Highway.

The retailer’s Tysons store, at 8459 Leesburg Pike, will remain open.

Golfsmith International filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization last week. The retailer operated about 109 retail stores in the United States and 55 Golf Town stores in Canada.

A timetable for the store closings was not announced.
