Mr. Hogan started the original Ben Hogan Company in 1953. His promise was to “design and manufacture the best golf clubs in the world” with “the most exacting tolerances modern machinery will allow.” He felt that golfers at that time were not being given what they wanted and needed.
Over a year ago, they began a journey to bring this vaunted reputation and the high ideals it always represented back to the golf equipment industry. Their team includes many who were part of Mr. Hogan’s forty-year legacy of precision. The longest tenured manufacturing manager in Ben Hogan history will ensure all Ben Hogan clubs are crafted as Mr. Hogan insisted. And the man who for thirty years worked side-by-side with Mr. Hogan has been their adviser and hands-on craftsman to make sure their master models were up to Mr. Hogan’s standards. Overall, they have put together a team that is dedicated to Mr. Hogan’s ideals for quality, performance and precision. Over 130 years of Ben Hogan Company experience, and many lives dedicated to the standards Mr. Hogan set for all of them, will ensure this is the real Ben Hogan Company.

Cobra Golf, based in Carlsbad, California, is an American manufacturer of golf equipment which is currently a subsidiary of the Puma company of Germany, which in turn is part of the French company Kering.
Founded in 1973 by Thomas L. Crow, Cobra produced one of the first utility clubs, the Baffler, long before the use of such clubs became popular. The company was acquired in 1996 by American Brands Inc. (later known as Fortune Brands) and was grouped together under the Acushnet Company umbrella along with the company’s other golf brands, Titleist, FootJoy, and Pinnacle Golf. Cobra was acquired by Puma SE in March 2010.
In early 1997, GigaGolf was a concept that developed out of a vacancy in the golf equipment market. At that time, much as it is today, there were several major brands that made high quality branded golf equipment sold through golf pro-shops and high end retailers. Callaway, Taylor Made, Titleist and Ping held more than 90% of the premium golf club market. Quality equipment endorsed by tour pros and sold at a premium price.
The budget end of the market consisted of low end golf equipment sold largely through mass merchandisers and department stores. Knight, Northwestern, and several others assembled golf clubs for this mass market. Prices were what you would expect to find at department stores. Even when quality materials were used to construct the component heads, the shafts chosen were typically price driven. Therefore, commercial quality shafts and grips were almost always used to maintain margins while keeping prices low. There had to be a way to offer quality golf clubs at affordable prices.
More than 10 years after it was founded, GigaGolf, Inc’s customer base is over 100,000. Our website generates over 1 million hits per day. Our production facility manufactures thousands of clubs per month for golfers all over the globe. As golfers we sincerely appreciate the opportunity to work in the sport we love. If you decide to put your faith in GigaGolf to build your next set of clubs, we promise to exceed your expectations both in the quality of the product and the level of customer service you receive when making your purchase. We are confident that you will be happy enough to tell your friends; our business depends on it.
In 1983 Henry-Griffitts was founded by Randy and another golf professional, Jim Griffitts, on the premise that players of all abilities tangibly benefit from custom-fitted golf equipment. They recognized that custom-fit golf clubs consistently enhance golfer performance – in ways that mass-produced, off-the-rack golf clubs cannot. For decades, Tour Professionals have insisted that manufacturers custom-fit their clubs – the tools of their demanding trade – to their specific body types and swing motions. Henry-Griffitts discovered what Tour Professionals have always known: On-course performance is maximized when clubs are custom fit. Then Henry-Griffitts started asking: “Why has this service been reserved only for the elite players?”
No golf shaft is perfectly round, straight or stiff throughout its length. Despite modern manufacturing techniques every golf shaft, whether steel or composite, contains imperfections that cause off-line bending and twisting as the shaft flexes during the golf swing.
SST PURE® Shaft Alignment involves analyzing the structure of a golf shaft to identify its imperfections and aligning the shaft to minimize their effects. Using patent-pending state-of-the-art computer analysis, SST PURE® pinpoints and correctly aligns shaft’s most stable plane in the clubhead to optimize shaft stability and performance.

Elmore Just founded Louisville Golf in 1974. The Kentucky-based company quickly became the industry’s leader in the design and production of Persimmon golf clubs. Just, joined by his four brothers (Ron, Mike, Robert, Gerard), invested heavily in research and development to improve the quality of Persimmon wood used in golf club heads and published a book entitled The Persimmon Story promoting the Persimmon species’ unique qualities for golf.
In the 1980s Louisville Golf manufactured Persimmon heads for some of the golf industry’s most respected companies: Hogan, Wilson, Spalding, Tommy Armour and Ram to name just a few. When many wooden golf club manufacturing plants closed due to increasing production costs, with metal “woods” being cast overseas, Louisville Golf found a niche for its handmade Persimmon woods and custom hardwood putters in the 1990s introducing the SMART Oversized Persimmon driver (the first of its kind) and the NIBLICK Persimmon fairway woods (a design that today carries a money-back guarantee).
Presently Louisville Golf makes some of the finest Persimmon woods ever offered, keeping the tradition alive for golfers who have experienced the pleasure of hitting a wood golf club and want to pass that on to a generation that largely has never experienced the satisfaction and sound of a well-struck Persimmon wood.
PING is an American manufacturer of golf equipment, based in Phoenix, Arizona. Ping was founded by Karsten Solheim, following a career as engineer at the General Electric company. In 1959, he started making putters in his garage in Redwood City, California. In 1967, he resigned his job at General Electric to develop the his new company and lead it to success.
The company was the first manufacturer to offer high quality cast clubs, which both reduced costs, allowed better quality control for high tech features and set the stage for manufactured fitting.
Ping was also the first to offer factory fitting, via a variety of clubheads in different lies and offsets. Beginning about 1980 Ping began offering their fitting program based on a checklist of the player’s physical characteristics, common problems and distances.
The 2011 checklist at the Ping website contained approximately 100 data inputs and was part of a 5-step fitting process covering everything from driver to putter.
The company is so intent on custom fitting that it began manufacturing some iron clubheads with a small notch in the clubhead. The notch allows the clubhead to be bent to the required specification without the danger of breaking the clubhead as was the problem for previous models.
